We had considered locking our visitor in but hadn't given much thought to what would happen once he/she became our POW. If anything, it would be our cat trying to desperately escape through a locked flap while they continued with their supper. We have an automatic feeder that we could perhaps set for 6 am (as that's when she usually gets up for breakfast) rather than leaving a feast out every night.

I hate to say it but I'm glad we're not the only ones dealing with cat burglars ...Caffeinated Wekahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07235662962500264686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4796829483097584791.post-50686006147584661812012-07-09T20:54:44.949+12:002012-07-09T20:54:44.949+12:00We were also feeding pretty much every cat in the ...We were also feeding pretty much every cat in the neighbourhood who knew how to use a cat flap so switched to a magnetic one and thought all our problems were solved...

We would set the the magnetic catflap at night so our cats could come in when they were ready but not go out again. This was working great until a neighbours' cat with a matching magnet on his collar came in, ate his fill and then got stuck inside. At this point my big and handsome ginger cat Paddy discovered the intruder and all hell broke loose as Padds tried to beat it into a furry pulp and the poor trapped kitty hurled himself repeatedly at a catdoor that would not budge.

This however was not as bad as the time a possum came through the (unmagnetic) catflap in the middle of the night, but that's a story for another day!wellreadkittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06445454579521412896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4796829483097584791.post-16470823278472729332012-07-09T13:59:37.190+12:002012-07-09T13:59:37.190+12:00Wow, a magnet to activate the door is such a great...Wow, a magnet to activate the door is such a great idea! Except, maybe your cat food burglar has a magnet too? Hope you can catch him/her in the act!Kezhttp://awesomelyunprepared.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
