Apparently strawberries are a superfood, and amongst one of the 20 best foods for health. Great news! I know they will double in price next week for Christmas (how cruel!), so I am enjoying my daily fix while I can. Yum!

A self-indulgent blog about places I've been, things I've done and whatever else takes my interest.
I live in Wellington, New Zealand. I love being surrounded by a good coffee culture and have proud weka roots. I enjoy this city's vibrant café scene and was formerly known as Café Chick. Between 2007 and 2021, I blogged about my adventures involving reading, music, baking, dancing, family, eating out with friends, travel and sunshine. Join me with a cup of coffee.

Strawberry season is in June here in Canada (or July, depending on the year), and I love going to u-pick farms with my MIL... I didn't last year though due to being pregnant... although I probably would have anyway ;)
yummy- those look so good right now.
We have a strawberry farm not far from our new house that is still advertising 3 punnets for $5 - I'm in heaven! However the other night I did end up with a terribly sore tum after eating a whole punnet myself in one sitting. Must learn restraint!
So envious of your fresh berries! They cost an arm and a leg out of season here. Merry Christmas, Café Chick!
Snow and Sugar on Snow is in season here. Yes that is a real thing (wiki it - apparently called Maple Taffy in Canada)! The only fruit worth purchasing right now is a pear or an imported banana!
